Bigg Boss viewers have started a petition to remove Salman Khan as host.

The petition asks that Khan's contract as host of the reality TV show is terminated due to special treatment towards actress Tanisha Mukerji.

"Mr.Khan reminded everyone (on the show) of the lineage Tanisha Mukerji comes from, as if her family line was proof of her innocence," said petitioner Maria S.

"Despite repeated offences of using foul language Armaan Kohli hasn't been reprimanded fully by the host."

The petition further notes: "Tanisha Mukerji was involved in three violent pushes directed towards Kushal Tandon but was let off easily by the host who said something along the lines that Tanisha should've done more; i.e. gotten more violent."

The actor has been present on most seasons of the Indian version of Big Brother, although Bollywood stars including Shilpa Shetty, Sanjay Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan have also hosted the show.

Bollywood PR guru Dale Bhagwagar said of the situation: "Some people might feel Salman Khan crosses the line now and then. But don't forget that Bigg Boss is nothing without all the drama and Salman is one great host who knows well how to provide it."

The 15-week reality TV show is broadcast on Colors UK.
