Damon Scott has claimed that the judges' comments on Britain's Got Talent are scripted and rehearsed for the programme.
The monkey puppeteer, who finished in second place in the competition two years ago, told the Daily Mail that show bosses want as much predictability as possible.
Scott said: "Most of the judges' comments are rehearsed and scripted - but they can change at the last minute. At the end of the day, they are making a TV show and they want to know what is going to happen."
He added: "When you come off stage after Britain's Got Talent, you think you will be a megastar. In reality, life is much harder than that.
"Backstage, there are lawyers with documents. All of the finalists have to sign a form saying they will be taken on by Syco, but when it came to it, they didn't want me. It was a crushing blow."
Former X Factor winner Steve Brookstein recently described Britain's Got Talent as "dangerous, cynical and nasty".
