The manufacturer of a "placeshifting" set-top-box that can stream audio and video from your TV over a broadband Internet connection told Digital Spy today that plans for a UK launch are on track.
Sling Media, the California-based manufacturer of the "Slingbox," told us that they are "still on track to deliver in Europe" during the second quarter of this year.
The box accepts inputs from the video and audio out ports from TVs and/or set-top-boxes. It may then be plugged into a router via ethernet, whereupon the Windows Media video and audio stream from the box may be accessed from any computer capable of playing WMV format streams. In addition, actions like channel-changing may be accomplished by pointing the Slingbox's infra-red emitter at the device to be controlled.
Stay with Digital Spy for more on the UK rollout of Slingbox as we get it.
