Production company Zig Zag is mulling plans to launch its own TV channel, according to C21.
The proposed station would target young males with its archive of shows originally made for Channel 4, Five, Sky One and Bravo.
"Everyone knows that viewers are brand-loyal to programmes more than channels, and viewers already know what a Zig Zag show is, just as they can recognise an Endemol or RDF show," claimed Zig Zag MD Danny Fenton in an interview with the website. "Our distinct programme brand is based on things like lads' TV with a more mature attitude. Cheeky and irreverent."
Zig Zag already has a foothold in the channel business with a minority stake in the Hotel Channel, a station airing in 50,000 hotel rooms around London.
