Loved by children and adults alike, animated TV character Pingu is making a bid for chart success this winter with a new single - and a video on YouTube.
The "stop-frame" animated video took two weeks to shoot and required 200 different Pingu models and moves.
The video was produced by Hot Animation for children's entertainment producers Hit Entertainment, which includes Bob the Builder, Thomas & Friends and Fireman Sam among its portfolio.
The promo has already become one of the most downloaded videos on YouTube racking up 27,000 views in less than a week.
The original 105 x 5 minute episodes of Pingu, made in Switzerland, were first broadcast in 1986. Each episode was five minutes long, and much of the character's success has been attributed to the lack of dialogue and the use of "penguin language" - called "Pinguish" or "Penguinese".
In 2004, Hit Entertainment bought the UK rights to the original series and produced a further 52 episodes, all of which are currently airing on kids channel CBeebies.
