Some useful points made in the courtroom-themed debate - which was mystifyingly cut from 75 minutes to an hour - one of which came from Kevin Lygo:
"Channel 4 at its best presents something of import to society in an entertaining way."
The channel wants to retain its "independence in spirit and mind", and is trying to more clearly define what it means by its public purpose, but is grappling with a potential deficit of £100m post-switchover.
