As reported yesterday, the broadcaster has decided to postpone this year's ceremony after irregularities related to the 2005 vote were discovered. The issue is now being investigated by media law firm Olswang.
Today's Mirror confirms that the investigation is related to July's claims that viewers were encouraged to vote for the people's choice award after it had already been handed over to Ant and Dec for Saturday Night Takeaway.
The latest report claims that The Catherine Tate Show would have won the award if all of the votes had counted.
Tate's agent Dawn Sedgwick told the newspaper: "It's disappointing. I don't think you can blame Ant and Dec and it would be churlish to get annoyed at something that happened so long ago. If this is something that has happened, then it will speak for itself."
