Capital Radio have installed a new communications chief to reaffirm its ties with investors and the media as it seeks to regain listeners and revenue.
Jane Wilson, account director of the financial PR firm Impact Consulting, has been chosen as Capital's new head of corporate communications after filling similar roles for Scottish Media Group and the UK's largest independent radio producer, UBC Media.
With the backing of a PR team headed by the experienced Elly Smith, Ms Wilson has the job of effectively communicating the changes being made to Capital's stations in order to attract new investors and listeners.
The appointment is the group's latest attempt to reverse the downturn in Capital FM's audience share and subsequent revenues due to competition from niche stations, which today's new RAJAR listening figures are expected to confirm.
