Tomorrow's planned strike by BBC News journalists has been called off after a last-minute deal was reached.
Industrial action that would have seen thousands of BBC journalists walk out had been planned for April 3 and 9 due to a dispute over the threat of compulsory redundancies in the South Asian section of the World Service.
"Following discussions last night the NUJ and Bectu have reached an agreement with the BBC in respect of the dispute over jobs at the South Asia service," the National Union of Journalists said in a statement. "Talks will continue over the coming weeks to resolve the dispute."
