A double-bill of Coronation Street is still proving a tempting prospect for viewers on Monday nights.
Both episodes of the ITV1 soap topped yesterday's ratings chart, with the 7.30pm showing averaging highest at 13.14 million viewers - a 56.2% share of the audience - and the 8.30pm installment drawing 11.98 million (46.8%).
BBC One's EastEnders put in an average of 11.83 million (48.8%), keeping Emmerdale at bay with an albeit impressive 10.15 million (46.4%).
Robson Green drama Wire in the Blood managed to build on last week's opener at 9pm, adding more than 1 million viewers to average 7.33 million (32.2%) over 90 minutes. BBC One's rival drama Faith was left in the cold with an uninspiring 3.47 million (14.6%).
Five's latest celebrity clip show The Bitchiest Ever TV Moments pulled in a respectable 1.9 million (9.2%) from 9pm, topping C4's surgery-themed Bodyshock, which had 1.69 million (7.2%).
Over on multichannel, top draw of the day was Sky One's 7pm Simpsons repeat, seen by 703,000 viewers (5.1%). Sky Sports 1's Monday Night Live Football coverage of the game between Norwich City and Manchester City averaged 617,000 (4.1%) from 7pm.
As usual, ITV2's Monday night movie put in a strong showing, with an average of 462,000 (3.3%) being amused by Eddie Murphy's Another 48 Hours. Sky One's replay of the Oscars ceremony fareds less impressively, averaging just 243,000 (1.6%).
