Sandilands: 'Nan scolded me for rape row'

Kyle Sandilands has revealed that his family were very angry with him after last year's 'rape row'.

The Australian DJ, who was suspended from his radio show and sacked from his Australian Idol judging role when he grilled a 14-year-old rape victim about her sex life live on air last year, said that his grandparents called him up to tell him off afterwards.

Sandilands told The Daily Telegraph: "My grandma would ring me and say 'I knew your bubble was going to burst one day'.

"My aunties would then ring up going 'You're troubling your grandparents because they are so old... it's not fair what you are putting them through'."

Sandilands and his co-host Jackie O later apologised for the stunt.

The 38-year-old star was recently announced as a new judge on Australia's Got Talent alongside Dannii Minogue.
