Ofcom has announced that 60% of UK households now receive digital TV services, which much of the recent growth coming from continuing strength in the takeup of DTT services.
The total number of homes now receiving digital TV is estimated by the media regulator to be 14,773,881. Of those, 2.5m take digital cable services, 4.6m have Freeview, 7.2m subscribe to Sky, and close to 400,000 homes have free-to-view satellite. A further 800,000 homes receive analogue cable TV.
