Finally, there will be something decent to watch during the day on Sky Movies instead of the made for TV American crap they show constantly. A 15 rated film would do nicely, but if they can extend the rules to accomodate 15 rated films then why not 18's aswell? If it's all PIN protected, then surely it's the responsibility of the parents to make sure their PIN is kept secret. Letting their children know the PIN defeats the point, and is the individuals problem to deal with, not the general publics.

This is ridiculous. Parents already control kids' access to 18-rated material on no-PIN movie channels, including films that have previous been banned, and contain all manner of objectionable material. Parents also control access to alcohol, tobacco, prescription drugs, knives, and poisons without PINs, all of which are demonstrably potentially lethal. Yet PIN access to adult movies, whose actual HARM is questionable, is insufficient.

9 Songs, Intimacy, Blaise Moi, The Idiots. Basically if you want to get round this stupid law just tack on a rubbish story to your film and you'll be fine. The Idiots was even broadcast in the clear on Channel 4. Uncut. It seems to me the problem isn't the explicit sexual contact, its the fact that its officially PORN, and the PTB can't be seen to condone it - even though its all being shown already, just masquerading as something else. Also, we move to a PIN system to make credit cards more secure, then decide a PIN isn't even good enough for TV.

if people had pin numbers children wouldnt be able to guess them if they didnt write it down. i agree with greg with bank cards.

Damn, knowing my parents PIN still isn't going to be any good.

I agree with Ofcom with the ban R18 material, PIN may secure with Banks and may be with SKY / Cable television. Never the less the risk of young children being exposed to Hardcore Adult Material need to out weigh Adults enjoyment of watching hardcore porn.

So, because little Johnny might be able to guess their parents PIN number, it means that the system is not secure, as a result. They dont feel they can allow a change to the rules. if this is the case, then surely Banks are being very irresponsible in allowing customers to have Debit cards, afterall, Little Johnny might guess the PIN on that too and take loads of money out of the account.
