Sky One signs output deal with Hallmark

Sky One has acquired the rights to fifteen new miniseries in a two-year output deal with Hallmark.

The major deal, which runs through December 2007, includes free, basic cable, pay and VOD TV rights to titles such as The Poseidon Adventure, Category 7: The End of the World and 10.5: Apocalypse.

"Hallmark Entertainment has a history of producing some of the finest small-screen events, receiving international, critical and commercial success," said David Smyth, Sky One's head of acquisitions, drama and comedy. "The 2006/7 line-up demonstrates some of Hallmark’s strongest programming to date and showcases some of today’s best talent.???

Meanwhile, the channel has also picked up the free and basic rights to new drama Thief, which follows a team of professional robbers as they conceive, plan and execute a large scale heist. The six-part series debuts on FX in the US next March and will follow on Sky One later in the Spring.
