ITV has appointed Guy Freeman as its new controller of music and events.
Freeman, who has previously worked on The Brits, Eurovision and Noel's House Party, will be responsible for developing and commissioning the network's portfolio of entertainment events in the newly-created post.
"The creation of this new role reflects a new emphasis on major one-off entertainment evenings," said Paul Jackson, ITV's director of entertainment and comedy. "ITV is the home of big, talked-about events that unite mass audiences and we are keen to find more new and exciting opportunities in this area."
Freeman takes up the new position on February 13.
