Flextech has poached Patrick Robinson from the BBC to become its first head of public affairs.

In the new role, Robinson will be responsible for developing Flextech's relationship with Ofcom and for "spearheading the company's lobbying efforts with other industry stakeholders".

"Patrick's appointment reflects the importance we place on our growing role in UK television and the unique perspective and investment we bring to the market," said Debbie Manners, Flextech's director of rights. "I'm thrilled to be welcoming him to the company."

In his time at the BBC, Robinson had worked on the corporation's charter renewal and content supply review.
