ITV has secured the terrestrial rights for new James Bond movie Casino Royale.
The broadcaster fought off strong competition from Channel 4 to premiere Daniel Craig's first outing as the super sleuth. The film goes on general release this November and is likely to air on ITV1 early in 2008.
The deal marks the first for the network's new acqusitions head Jay Kondola and also includes additional repeat runs of the entire Bond back catalogue.
“The Bond catalogue contains some of the most successful films in British film history," said Kandola. "I am delighted to have secured the first terrestrial screening of Daniel Craig as James Bond, exclusively for ITV viewers.”
