Regulator Ofcom today advertised the new 12-year national digital multiplex which is up for grabs.

Between now the March 28 deadline, potential owners of the new multiplex will have the opportunity to present their proposals.

Channel 4 has announced it is planning a range of branded stations, should it be successful, and is believed to be in talks with Emap and UTV. GCap is reportedly in talks with BT and Arqiva, and National Grid Wireless has expressed an interest, but has not revealed its partners.

Ofcom said the licence will allow the delivery of "mobile television channels" as well as a "number of radio services".

Some parts of Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and parts of west Wales will not be able to receive the new services.
