TV service BT Vision has appointed former Sky Sports head of marketing Paul Ridsdale as senior marketing manager, sports advertising and sponsorship.
Ridsdale will be responsible for marketing BT Vision's sport portfolio, reporting into BT Vision's head of customer acquisition James Soames.
BT launched its new TV service December, with a library of on-demand content via broadband and over 40 Freeview channels.
A sports service will be launched in the summer, where through a deal with Setanta Sports, BT Vision customers will have access to 242 'near-live' on-demand Premiership football matches including 46 live Premiership games and 60 live games from the Scottish Premier League.
Lib Charlesworth, director of sales and marketing at BT Television Services, said that the appointment of Ridsdale demonstrated its "commitment to sport as a fundamental part of the BT Vision proposition".
