Home of Coronation Street, Granada Studios, could be turned into flats or offices, if redevelopment proposals are given the go-ahead.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Granada is looking at four redevelopment bids for the Quay Street site which could see it developed into offices, leisure or residential space .
If the a bid is accepted, the company could relocate its 1,000 staff to the media city development in Salford along with the BBC, but Granada may also consider staying as a tenant within the new Quay Street development.
ITV's property director Mark Stratton said that if it did stay, it hoped to create "a media quarter" within the development.
"This is a property decision, but obviously there are sensitivities about our existing operation there," he told the Manchester Evening News.
