Richard Hammond and former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie are competing to present a one-off episode of BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour.
Comedian Andy Hamilton is also in the race to host a Comic Relief special of the long-running radio show on Red Nose Day. The decision will be made by a phone vote.
Woman's Hour was first presented by a man, Alan Ivimey, when it launched in 1946. In January 2005 it was presented for one day, as Man's Hour, by Jon Snow.
