ITV and Channel 4 mobile heads said that the recent controversy and review of phone-in competitions and voting on TV has not made a difference to consumer confidence in mobile TV services.

Speaking at the Broadcast Mobile Congress, ITV's head of mobile Melissa Goodwin said that the volume of its mobile downloads had not changed since reports of errors on shows like ITV1's X-Factor and BBC One's Blue Peter had come to light.

"It hasn't made any difference. We had the highest number of votes ever on Dancing on Ice recently. People want to interact, they'll even send in postcards to competitions. We will always put the content out while there is a demand, and there is," Goodwin said.

Joe Bentley, editor of mobile at Channel 4 New Media, agreed stating that the issue had not made any impact on the number of people using Channel 4's interactive and mobile services.
