Anna Bradley has been appointed chairman of Ofcom's independent consumer panel.

She replaces Colette Bowe who has joined the board of the watchdog.

Bradley, who has held several senior consumer roles, said: "Ofcom’s independent consumer panel has a vital role to play in promoting the interests of consumers in increasingly complex communications markets. I look forward to leading this work and ensuring its advice is acted on."

She has spent three years as both consumer affairs director at the Financial Services Authority and chief executive of the National Consumer Council.

Ofcom chairman Lord Currie added: "Anna Bradley’s commitment to representing the consumer interest, including her experience at the FSA and at the NCC, make her very well suited for this key role."

Her job is to advise Ofcom on consumers' interest in telecommunications, broadcasting and spectrums.
