Lisa Opie has resigned from her role as managing director of content at Five.
The announcement comes in the wake of Dawn Airey being lined up as chairman and the subsequent exit of chief executive Jane Lighting.
"Five is in good health, but Jane’s departure and the arrival of Dawn Airey as chairman of Five means that it is time for a change," Opie said in a statement today.
"I would like to wish Dawn all the best in her new role – and assure her that she will be inheriting a highly capable team of creative people."
Opie will leave immediately and take six months of gardening leave. She joined Five in October 2006 from Flextech and has achieved strong ratings for the flagship channel so far this year.
Gerhard Zeiler, chief executive of Five owner RTL Group, said: "We have a great programme team and they have delivered good results during the first part of the year.
"During the transition period, I will be working closely with them and with Mark White to ensure that we move forward.
"RTL Group is grateful to Lisa Opie for her achievements during her time as managing director, content."
Airey announced she was leaving ITV for the Five role on Tuesday, then Lighting said today would be her last at the broadcaster.
Mark White, Five's executive director of sales, is expected to take over as interim chief executive until Airey's arrival, which may not be until late next spring.
