Virgin has acquired the on demand rights to all three seasons of Lost, The Observer reported today.

The news comes as Virgin prepares for the probable withdrawal of Sky's basic channels - including Sky One, which screens Lost in the UK - from its cable TV service this week.

The paper reported that Virgin's deal will enable it to screen Lost on its Virgin Central on demand service, with episodes from season three available from August.
