Gamu Nhengu
Gamu Nhengu first appeared on ITV talent show The X Factor, where she blew judges away with her rendition of 'Walking On Sunshine' by Katrina And The Waves. The young singer easily progressed through the competition until she was denied a spot in the live finals of the programme by mentor Cheryl Cole. However, the public failed to agree with the judge's decision and the ensuing controversy - dubbed "Gamugate" - resulted in death threats, seven days of media furore, and outcry over claims that she had been axed due to issues with her visa. Although no longer in the competition, Nhengu remains in the public eye as she battles against an attempt to deport her family from the UK.
