Having successfully developed the TV series Alias, Lost and Fringe, JJ Abrams is a television producer and filmmaker known for his science-fiction and fantasy offerings. In 2009, he directed and released a new feature film reboot of the Star Trek franchise, opening to critical acclaim, with a sequel Star Trek: Into Darkness also achieving success in 2013.

His other credits include Armageddon, Mission Impossible III, Cloverfield, Super 8 and Revolution. He is currently working on Star Wars Episode VII, which is due for release in December 2015.
