Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, JB Gill and Oritsé Williams - aka JLS - first became a household name by auditioning for the fifth series of The X Factor. The four-piece group sailed through the various stages of the competition and under Louis Walsh's guidance ultimately finished as runners-up. Despite not winning the competition, the band later took four of their first five singles to No.1 and in three short years have won 11 music awards, including two BRITs.
