Russell Brand

Comedian, presenter and actor Russell Brand has become notorious worldwide for having lived a troubled, controversial and scandalous life. He first came to public attention as the eccentric host of Big Brother companion show Big Mouth from 2004 to 2007, although he previously worked as an MTV VJ until he was fired for coming to work dressed as Osama Bin Laden the day after 9/11. Other notable controversies from his career include 'Sachsgate' - his infamous prank phone calls with Jonathan Ross to Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs - as well as his death threat-inducing hosting role at the 2008 MTV VMA ceremony. As a former drug addict, sex addict and alcoholic, Brand has amassed plenty of material for his three nationwide stand-up tours, the success of which has led to his casting in several major motion pictures including Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him To The Greek and St Trinians. In October 2010 reformed womaniser Brand married longterm partner Katy Perry in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India. However, the two announced their split in December 2011.
