Sabrina Washingon has leapt to Stuart Manning's defence after Joe Bugner dismissed his career ambitions.
Manning had previously said that he wanted to pursue work in Hollywood. However, Bugner expressed doubts that he would make it.
"He's going to America?" the boxer asked. "I hope he's got a lot of money. What I'm saying is if you're going to try and land a position in America today then you live this lifestyle or you don't make it at all. It's totally overloaded with stars of all shapes and sizes."
Washington then hit back at Bugner, accusing him of being overly negative before speaking out in defence of the actor.
"That's a bit cloak and dagger," she stated. "That's true but at the end of the day nothing's impossible. I'm saying at the end of the day if you have a dream and you pursue the only time you fail is when you stop."
In the Bush Telegraph, she later explained: "I don't know if Joe is trying to ruffle feathers as obviously he's older than a lot of us, so he's seen a lot more. But I like positive energy around me, I don't like to be negative."
Meanwhile, Bugner subsequently told Colin McAllister: "I think she's pretty thick, Sabrina. I said the fact I was able to go back into boxing and earn hundreds of thousands of pounds. I said just think about it, I was able to live there. What is Stuart going to do? I'm making enemies not friends."
