The final of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Here! scored the highest viewer numbers since the series began, according to unofficial overnight data.
The final show, which aired on ITV1, averaged 12.3m viewers, equating to a 49.8% audience share for the channel. At one point viewing figures peaked at 13.3m viewers, with ITV1 scooping a 52.4% share.
ITV's Controller of Entertainment, Claudia Rosencrantz, said: "It’s been a fantastic series packed with drama, emotion and plenty of humour and it really got the nation talking. I'm thrilled that so many people were hooked, and I include myself among them - I voted so many times that I think I may have donated most of my annual salary to charity!"
The show has also seen ratings for sister channel ITV2 increase; the final episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here NOW! on that channel had just over one million viewers watching, bringing a 10.3% audience share to the channel.
Overall I'm A Celebrity has performed well for both channels, with ITV1 reporting ratings over the entire second series are around twenty percent up on those for the first series. ITV2's NOW show, which aired nightly after the main show on ITV1, pulled an average of 700,000 viewers; while the channel's live streaming pushed the channel ahead of Sky One as the most popular non-terrestrial channel in multichannel homes.
