Esther Rantzen has described her fellow I'm A Celebrity... contestants as "bullies".
The 68-year-old, who campaigns for children's rights, made the remark at last night's Diana Anti-Bullying Awards in Docklands, London.
"Recently, I was in the jungle where there was bullying - there was no question bullying was going on," she said. "I think and hope everybody learns from that experience. Certainly I did."
The TV presenter criticised the campers for turning on Timmy Mallett and David Van Day, who were late arrivals in the jungle.
"What I discovered is how difficult it is when a gang turns on two newcomers just because they are different," she said.
However, Rantzen praised winner Joe Swash for standing up to the 'bullies', saying: "What it proved is, a, it can be done and, b, a whole nation celebrates and awards him with a top prize."
