'Daredevil' heading in 'new direction'
Marvel Comics's Daredevil is heading in a new direction, according to the series's editor.

Writer Ed Brubaker and artists Michael Lark and Stefano Gaudiano are currently bringing the Return Of The King story arc to a head with the milestone issue Daredevil #500.

The storyline sees the Man Without Fear join forces with The Kingpin to take down mutual enemy Lady Bullseye. Editor Warren Simons explained that the conclusion will make a change of direction for Daredevil.

"I know that it's a cliché to say, but you ain't never seen Matt like this before," he said.

A second plotline in the anniversary issue sees the return of former writer Ann Nocenti and artist David Aja. "I always felt that Annie's run on Daredevil was terrific and I wanted to get her involved with the big anniversary issue," Simons added.

"David and I were talking about the choreography of the story this morning; he's very meticulous, as you can tell from the extraordinary level of detail and the quality of his storytelling. It is a big, brutal, delicious fight between DD and Bullseye."

Daredevil #500 will be available in August.
