According to MTV, Comix 411 and ComicBook.com, the singer was an avid comic collector, and even discussed purchasing Marvel Comics when the company was in financial turmoil during the late '90s.
Following the formation of Stan Lee Media (SLM), Jackson allegedly met with the Marvel founder and his business partner Peter Paul to discuss the potential deal, which eventually fell through.
"After we built SLM into a public company with a market cap almost twice Marvel's, we talked with Michael Jackson about teaming up to buy Marvel," Paul told The Comics Journal.
"I have a videotape of Michael in our offices for over two hours, seeing what we were doing."
Jackson also appeared in several comic books throughout the 1980s, including Rock n' Roll Comics #36 and Marvel's Spoof #3.
