Based on the Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness book of the same name, the story centres around US president Lex Luthor's scheme to frame Batman and Superman for the arrival of a kryptonite asteroid. Forced to go on the run, the heroes must call upon members of the Justice League for assistance.
Voice actors Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown will reprise their respective roles as Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor for the film.
Daly has previously voiced the Man of Steel in the '90s Superman television series, but did not return for the recent Justice League features. However, Clancy Brown appeared as Lex Luthor in both shows.
Conroy recently provided the voice of the Dark Knight in Batman: Gotham Knights, as well as the upcoming video game Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Celebrated animator and producer Brue Timm is on board for the project, with director Sam Liu at the helm.
Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 29.
