The Madman creator announced the project on his blog with a post entitled "Top Secret Project Tease", but is so far unable to give any details about the comic. It will be written by Chris Roberson, writer of Vertigo's forthcoming Cinderella, from Fabletown, with Love.
"[It] won't be long until I'm allowed to talk about the project which has detoured me from Snap City," Allred wrote on his message board.
"I'm 'alive' with this 'monster' and hope everyone 'eats' it up," he added, cryptically.
The project will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con (July 23 to 26) and on Vertigo's blog.
Allred is currently drawing the Metamorpho strip in DC's Wednesday Comics, written by Neil Gaiman.
