Frank Miller drafts '300' sequel

Writer Frank Miller has completed a first draft of a proposed sequel to the bestselling graphic novel 300.

Serving as a direct follow-up to its predecessor, the book will provide the basis for a potential film collaboration between Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures.

Watchman director Zach Snyder, who helmed the first movie, has expressed an interest in returning should the project be greenlit. It has also been rumoured that co-writer Kurt Johnstad will contribute to the screenplay.

Independent company Dark Horse Comics has been confirmed as the graphic novel's publisher, with Miller said to be on the verge of turning in a draft.

The original 300 quickly gained cult status among comic book fans, winning three Eisner Awards in 1999. A film adaptation was released in 2007, grossing $406 million (£245m) at the box office.
