DC's 'JSA' to split into two titles

During the firm's JSA: The Great Society panel at Comic-Con International, it was confirmed that co-writers Bill Willingham and Matthew Sturges will kick off a five-issue arc of JSA to establish a new status quo.
The plotline will pave the way for a spinoff series titled JSA All Stars. Sturges will pen the new book, which will feature artwork from fan-favourite Freddie Williams II.
"This has been in the works since day one," Sturges told CBR. "When they hired me and Bill to do the book it was always with the understanding that we were going to be splitting the book in two.
"There's a very serious situation. There's a lot of battle, a lot of damage," he continued. "And it's as a result of what happens in that arc that the teams find themselves necessitating this, for reasons which I can't tell you because it would totally spoil stuff."
The new Justice Society Of America will begin next week, followed by JSA All Stars in the autumn.
