During the publisher's Superman/Batman: Public Enemies panel at Comic-Con International, it was confirmed that the anti-hero will feature in his own cartoon as part of Warners' upcoming DC Showcase.
According to DC's senior vice president of creative affairs Gregory Noveck, the two firms are not yet ready to divulge specific details about the project, but a Jonah Hex animated film written by Joe R. Lansdale is currently in production.
DC Showcase will be a new offering from the creative team behind Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and the recently released Green Lantern: First Flight.
A live-action Jonah Hex feature film starring Megan Fox and Josh Brolin is also in production, to be helmed by Jimmy Hayward.
The character has previously featured in Batman and Justice League cartoons, but the new animation will mark his first solo appearance.
