Busiek announces new WildStorm title
The new creator-owned title Kurt Busiek's American Gothic was announced at San Diego's Comic-Con International.

The Trinity and Avengers writer's new modern-day fantasy series will be published by DC Comics' imprint WildStorm Productions, with art by Connor Willumsen.

"It’s a fantasy series set in the United States," said Busiek at the WildStorm panel. "It’s contemporary fantasy, urban fantasy, historical fantasy.

"We were going to call it Bill Willingham’s American Gothic, but there were some trademark problems," he joked.

Some of the possible stories revealed by Busiek include a girl from Rhode Island discovering her neighbour is an exiled Thor, and a washed-up cooking host whose search for the perfect burger brings him to the borderlands of hell.

Busiek will also be returning to his Astro City title, which has a monthly schedule set for next year.
