At last weekend's Chicago Comic-Con, the publisher announced that New Avengers Annual #3 and Dark Avengers Annual #1 will be written by series mainstay Brian Michael Bendis, with artwork from Mike Mayhew and Chris Bachello, respectively.
It is currently unknown whether the special issues will ship alongside the monthly releases in both series', or launch in their place. However, it was confirmed that the books will tie into ongoing plotline Dark Reign: The List.
Marvel remained tight-lipped on the storylines, but a preview of New Avengers' cover revealed that Jessica Jones will be teaming with Spider-Woman, Ms. Marvel and the Black Cat for a new mission.
Less is known about Dark Avengers but the publisher did divulge that the issue will reveal "the fate of Captain Marvel".
