The long-running plotline, adapted from the Robert E. Howard novel, drew to a close this week in Conan The Cimmerian #13, written by Timothy Truman and drawn by Tomás Giorello. Two standalone issues, functioning as in-series specials, will follow in its wake.
Conan #14 will see Truman continue his run as writer, accompanied by his son Ben. The book will be a split issue, with one half dedicated to the fallout from Black Colossus, while the other will be set during the barbarian's youth.
"This issue #14 tale is in continuity with the issues in our regular Cimmerian series," Simon told CBR. "Tim's son Ben coplotted this issue, which is called Home for the Hunt, and Ben also coplotted the Trophy short story that Marian Churchland illustrated for MySpace Dark Horse Presents."
Conan the Cimmerian #15 will see artist Paul Lee collaborate with the team on a King Conan story, which finds the character entangled with a female vampire.
"Our Conan The Cimmerian #15 story, as sharp-eyed readers will see, fits in with every other short story that Tim and Paul have done together - in a subtle, winking way perhaps, but they all fit together," Simon added.
Conan the Cimmerian #14 and #15 will be released in September and October, respectively.
