'Ex Machina' enters final arc
Brian K. Vaughan's Ex Machina will enter its final story arc this week.

Issue #45 begins the last six-issue episode in the Eisner Award-winning series, published by WildStorm since 2004.

"This is my favourite part of an ongoing series," Vaughan told Comic Book Resources. "When readers get to see that we weren’t making it all up as we went along, that even the crap that may have once seemed innocuous or irrelevant is somehow important to our larger story.

"I always knew exactly how the story was going to end, but not exactly how we’d reach that destination."

Ex Machina tells the story of New York City mayor Mitchell Hundred, who also happens to be the world’s first and only superhero The Great Machine.

The series explores the fortunes of Hundred following the events of September 11.

Ex Machina #45 is out this week.
