A casting call for upcoming superhero film Green Lantern has revealed its lineup of characters, Spoiler TV has reported.
According to the press release, the film's antagonist will be rogue Lantern Sinestro, one of the most popular villains in the series' canon. It was also confirmed that Hal Jordan's love interest will be Carol Ferris, who later became the villainess Star Sapphire in the comic books.
Peripheral characters were also unveiled, including Dr Hector Hammond, described in the casting call as "austere and impersonal, real scummy, a pathologist and also the son of a senator". His comic-book counterpart is a wealthy villain with mind-control abilities.
The part of Abin Sur, a member of the Green Lantern Corps and mentor to Hal Jordan, is also up for grabs.
It was previously announced that Ryan Reynolds will star as the movie's protagonist, while Martin Campbell will direct. Green Lantern is slated for release on June 17, 2011.
