Speculation about the project surfaced after Adams posted sketches of the caped crusader on his official website under the banner Odyssey.
In the accompanying blurb he teases: "So what do I, and of course the incredible Frank Miller bring to Batman after all that's gone before?
"Well it better be something that's pretty darn hot, Jocko, right?"
However, DiDio has since played down rumours.
He told Newsarama: "Well, since it's never been officially announced, I can't really say if anything's going on with it.
"And if I had 80 pages in my drawer of it, right now, I still wouldn't be able to talk about it."
Adams first drew Batman in the 1970s alongside writer Dennis O’Neil. His run on the title was a source of inspiration for Miller’s Dark Knight Returns miniseries.
