'Venom' film still in the works?
Sony Pictures' proposed Venom film could still be going ahead, according to the project's scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

In an interview with Sci-Fi Wire, the Zombieland co-writers revealed that they have completed a script for the Spider-Man spinoff and submitted it to Sony.

"We've written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they're pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward," they said.

Eddie Brock and his alter ego have previously appeared on screen in Spider-Man 3, played by Topher Grace. A Venom solo project was proposed in the wake of the film's release.

Brock first appeared as Venom in The Amazing Spider-Man #299 in March 1988. He went on to become one of the most popular Spider-Man foes, as well as starring in his own series as a vigilante.
