According to Variety, the project will be scripted by the book's creator Warren Ellis, who introduced the titular character in 1999 with the graphic novel Strange Kiss. He will also act as executive producer.
The series revolves around a British SAS soldier named William Gravel, who possesses dark magical abilities. In addition to his military duties, the character uses his special powers to vanquish supernatural beings for paying clients.
Legendary further holds the film rights for the comic book properties Sucker Punch and Jonah Hex. The studio is also filming Louis Leterrier's Clash Of The Titans and Christopher Nolan's Inception.
An official release date for Gravel is yet to be announced.
