Sharon Cook and Beth Bovaire of Nicholasville, Jessamine county removed The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen from the girl's hold list after deeming it unsuitable, according to local TV stations.
Cook described the book as "pornography" in her interviews.
"Residents in Jessamine county do not realise that these books that are so graphic are available in the library let alone to their children," added Bovaire.
The Jessamine County Library Director said that it was against policy to discuss terminations and that it was the responsibility of a child's parents to monitor what they are reading.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series does display scenes of sex and violence.
