2009 Observer, Cape awards announced

The annual Observer/Cape graphic short story award winners have been announced.
Vivien McDermid was announced as the winner for her story Paint by the Observer.
McDermid will receive a cheque of £1,000 at a ceremony at London’s ICA on November 8.
Second place and a cheque for £250 went to Joff Winterhart for Days of the Bagnold Summer.
Paint explores the relationship between a mother and her young child. Days of the Bagnold Summer is a humourous story about a woman and her teenage son.
