DC Comics
Roberson, known for his alternate history fiction, acted as a fill-in writer for Fables creator Bill Willingham when he took a break from the ongoing Jack of Fables series.
He was invited back to pen Vertigo's new six-issue miniseries Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love.
"As far as I'm concerned, Cinderella isn't just a superspy, she is the superspy," Roberson told Comic Book Resources. "The way Willingham has re conceived her character, she's been a secret agent for Fabletown since sometime around the beginning of the 18th century.
"Two hundred years of perfecting her skills, learning more than the best secret agents in fiction can master in a lifetime of work. The fact that she has access to all sorts of magical doodads only makes her that much more efficient."
Roberson identified the James Bond movie franchise, The Avengers TV series and comic strip spy Modesty Blaise as some of his inspirations for the series.
Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love #1 is out this week.
